University Grants Commission (UGC) invites applications from outstanding, eligible and motivated individuals with a demonstrated interest for research and teaching for the fulfillment of faculty positions i.e., Assistant Professor, Associate Professor and Professor in areas of basic sciences,

  1. Physics,
  2. Mathematics,
  3. Chemistry,
  4. Biology,
  5. Engineering,
  6. Earth Sciences.

Vacancy type: Assistant Professor, Associate Professor and Professor

Core Subject areas: All areas of basic sciences – Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology, Engineering and Earth Sciences.

These positions have been created as part of a new Initiative designed to enhance the faculty resources in Indian Universities.

Duration: Initial appointments shall be for a period of five years, extendible through peer evaluation by successive 5-year terms.

Age limit: The positions are tenable till the age of superannuation (65 years).

Required qualifications for advertised positions (except in engineering sciences)

PROFESSOR

Essential qualifications:

  1. PhD. degree in concerned discipline
  2. of 10 years experience of teaching and research
  3. Published work of high quality with a minimum of ten publications as books or research papers.
  4. Contribution to educational innovation, i.e., design of new curricula and courses, and technology-mediated teaching process.

ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR

Essential qualifications:

  1. PhD. degree in concerned discipline;
  2. 55% marks or equivalent grade at the Master’s level.
  3. A min. of 8
  4. Minimum of 5 publications as books and / or research papers.
  5. Contribution to educational innovation, i.e., design of new curricula and courses, and technology-mediated teaching process.

ASSISTANT PROFESSOR

Essential qualifications:

  1. 55% marks or equivalent grade in Master’s degree from an Indian University, or foreign university.
  2. Should have cleared National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC / CSIR or SLET / SET.
  3. Candidates with a Ph.D. degree (awarded in accordance with the UGC norms 2009) are exempted from the requirement of NET/SLET/SET.

Desirable qualifications:

  1. PhD. degree in concerned discipline
  2. One-to-two years postdoc research experience,
  3. Good record of research publications.
