The DBT Apex Biotechnology Information project at ICGEB is inviting applications for various project vacancies.

Duration: approx. 02 years; extension of 6 months possible

  • Administrative Assistant: 1 position

Minimum Educational Qualification, desirable experience and expected duties:

Senior Information Scientist:
  • Candidates should hold a Ph.D., preferably in Biological Sciences.
  • Desirable experience: managing, administration and reporting of research projects.
  • Expected duties: day to day activities of the Centre, set out by DBT for the centre, which includes, but is not limited to, organizing Apex BTIC meetings, BTISNet/NEBINet coordinators meetings, training programmes, outreach activities, maintaining the records, internal auditing, communication with BTISNET nodes, handling of the Apex BTIC project related project documents and reports, and occoasional duties given to her/him by the centre coordinator. He/she must have good written and verbal communication skills.
Sr. System Analyst:
  • Candidates should have a postgraduate degree in computer sciences/Information technology/Bioinformatics.
  • Desirable experience: computer systems administration, creating web portals, administration of BTISNet websites on NIC cloud space. Knowledge of Python/PERL/C++/MySQL/PHP/JAVA
Programmer:
  • Candidates should have a postgraduate degree in computer sciences.
  • Desirable experience: computer programming.
Programme Officer:
  • The applicants should be Postgraduates with experience in Data collection and Statistics, especially in Biotechnology-related data.
  • Expected duties: Collection of Biotechnology related information from India, to facilitate the Apex BTIC experts committee review of programmes at centres and R&D programs funded by DBT.
Technical Research Assistant:
  • The applicants should be Postgraduates in Science with experience in Bioinformatics-related projects.
  • Expected duties: The candidates will assist the senior staff of the centre in daily activities and help in the preparation of the Annual Training Calendar, seminar and training podcasts/videos, repository of training material and Apex BTIC Newsletter.
Computer Operator:
  • The applicants should be Graduates in computer sciences/IT with experience in data entry and software usage.
Attendant:
  • The applicants should hold at least a middle school pass with relevant experience working in an office environment.
Administrative Assistant:
  • The applicants should be graduates with experience working on research projects.
