Ph.D. PROGRAMME at the Institute of Life Sciences (ILS),  under the Dept. of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Govt. of India. The institute is engaged in advanced research in modern biology and is willing to invites applications from eligible Indian nationals for the Ph.D. program in computational biology

All the selected candidates will be eligible for JRF fellowships as per Govt. of India norms.

 Areas / Theme of research activities

  1. Infectious Disease Biology: Immunobiology, immunogenomics, immunopathology, pathogenesis, mechanism of antibiotic resistance, replication, cell division, cellular responses and regulation strategies of different pathogens including bacteria, viruses, fungi as well as metazoan parasites.
  2. Gene function and regulation: Leukemia and leukemic stem cells, prostate cancer, oral cancer, development of new plant promoters, biology of breast cancer, molecular biology of abiotic stress, vascular biology with reference to zebra fish & functional genomics of extremophiles towards gene prospecting.
  3. Translational Research:The major focus of this group is the development of technology platforms in the areas of drug discovery, clinical proteomics, gene therapy, nanotechnology, computational biology, structural biology, medical genetics and tumor biology.
