KFAS: Kuwait Programme at ICTP 3722 views

The Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS) and ICTP have extended their longtime association for science advancement by creating a new joint programme of support for scientists from Kuwait and other Arab countries to participate in ICTP’s research activities.

The ICTP offers the following opportunities:

1. Supporting Scientists from Arab Countries to attend ICTP Scientific Calendar activities
2. Diploma Students Programme
3. Post-doctoral Fellowship

Supporting Scientists from Arab Countries to attend ICTP Scientific Calendar activities:

• ICTP organizes various conferences, schools and workshops every year through its Scientific Calendar of activities.
• The Kuwait Programme offers support to cover travel expenses; daily living allowance for a period of 01 (one) month of their stay for the activity.

Diploma Students Programme:

• It’s a 12-month pre-doctoral education programme for talented young science students.
• The Programme offers support for 03 (three) Arab students to attend this intensive educational course selected on a competitive basis.
• The application deadline for the Programme is 31 January.
• Applicants from Arab countries who are accepted into the Diploma Programme are eligible for a KFAS grant.

Post-doctoral Fellowship:

• The fellowship is granted to a young postdoc Arab scientist working in Kuwait (with priority to Kuwaiti scientists).
• This fellowship allows scientist to continue the research in the areas of expertise of ICTP for maximum 12 months, under the supervision of a resident scientist at the Centre.
