Scientist Positions (C, B) at CRME-ICMR: Centre for Research in Medical Entomology (CRME), Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) invites application for Scientist B and C

Applications from suitable candidates are invited for filling up of the following posts at CRME, Madurai through
Direct Recruitment.

1. Scientist ‘C – 1 post (UR)
2. Scientist ‘B’ – 1 post (UR)

Scientist ‘B’ –

Essential Qualifications:

1. 1st class Master’s degree in Life Science / Genetics / Zoology / Biotechnology/Microbiology or
2. 2nd Class M Sc and Ph D, degree in one of the above subjects

 Desirable qualifications:

1. 2 years or more R&D/ teaching experience in molecular entomology/ ecological genetics/
   parasite genomics / molecular epidemiology of vector borne diseases/ functional genomics/ genetics of insect behavior / gene editing technologies after obtaining one of the abovementioned essential qualifications
2. D./ M. Tech. degree in molecular entomology/ molecular parasitology.
3. Knowledge of computer applications & handling of bioinformatics tools, especially DNA
   sequence data analysis
4. High quality research publications in internationally reputed journals.

Scientist ‘C : Essential Qualifications:

1. First Class Master’s degree in Zoology/ Molecular Biology/Biochemistry/ Genetics/
   Biotechnology/ Bioinformatics OR
2. Second Class M.Sc and Ph.D. degree in one of the above subjects
3. 4 years of R&D/ teaching experience in molecular aspects of malaria/ dengue/chikungunya & other vector borne diseases from a recognized institute/ university after obtaining one of the above degrees.

Desirable Qualifications:

1. D./ M. Tech. degree in the field of malaria/ dengue/ chikungunya or other vector borne diseases
2. Additional postdoc research/ teaching experience from recognized institute in molecular population genetics/ bioinformatics/ DNA sequence data analysis.
3. Knowledge of computer applications and handling of bioinformatics tools/ data analyses.
4. Experience in handling and analyzing genomic data/ comparative genomics/ phylogenetics/
   molecular taxonomy
5. High quality publications
