Open PhD Positions in Physics and Chemistry at “The Hamburg Centre for Ultrafast Imaging” The main goal of „The Hamburg Centre for Ultrafast Imaging” (CUI) is to observe and analyse the ultrafast dynamics of physical, chemical, and molecular biological processes.

CUI scientists hope to gain a more precise understanding of high temperature superconductivity, magnetism, and the development of ordered molecular structures. This type of insight could result in new high-tech materials. Since this undertaking will require the expertise of many disciplines, scientists from physics, chemistry, biology and medicine have joined forces under the umbrella of the Cluster of Excellence. The novel X-ray and electron sources on the Campus Hamburg-Bahrenfeld are an important tool for scientists in the field of photon and nano science.

Within its Graduate School CUI currently offers funded PhD positions in the research areas:

C. Dynamics of Order Formation on the Nanoscale

The CUI Graduate School offers an interdisciplinary course programme including soft skill courses, winter school and support for participation in international scientific meetings.
