The Cardiff Catalysis Institute is looking to recruit a number of PhD students starting in October 2015, These studentships will be associated with a number of projects in the area of heterogeneous catalysis. Applicants should have a good degree in Chemistry, or a related relevant subject, should be self-motivated and demonstrate a keen aptitude for research. Areas for recruitment are:
EPSRC Case Award on VCM catalysis
Catalytic oxidation of VOCs
Catalytic oxidation in the liquid phase.
Catalysis for advanced vehicle after-treatment.
Start date: October 2015
Number of Studentships: TBC
This studentship consists of full UK/EU tuition fees, as well as a Doctoral Stipend matching UK Research Council National Minimum (£14,057 p.a. for 2015/16, updated each year).
Residency: Full awards (fees plus maintenance stipend) are open to UK Nationals and EU students without further restrictions.
Academic criteria: Applicants should have at least a 2.1 undergraduate degree in Chemistry or a closely related discipline appropriate for heterogeneous catalysis research.
How to Apply
Consideration is automatic on applying for Doctor of Philosophy (Chemistry), with a start date of October 2015 via Cardiff University’s Online Application Service.
