Job Description / Project information
The position is associated with the laboratory of Professor Philippe Collas (www.collaslab.com). The laboratory focuses on
- study of nuclear architecture and chromatin organization in somatic stem cells.
- to investigate the influence of cellular metabolic state on the association of chromatin with the nuclear envelope in adipose tissue stem cells,
- spatial organization of the genome.
- thesis work will involve chromatin and metabolic studies.
The candidate will be able to draw on existing expertise within the group in the areas of stem cell biology, nuclear envelope biology, epigenetics and genome modeling. The PhD work will involve interactions within a cross-disciplinary team consisting of cell and molecular biologists and bioinformaticians.
Qualifications and Personal Skills
The selected candidate will have a background in cell biology, molecular biology or biochemistry. The candidate must have experience in cell culture, immunological methods, microscopy, and biochemical methods including cell fractionation and chromatin immunoprecipitation. Good knowledge and interest in genomics, gene regulation, epigenetics and related bioinformatics will be strong advantage. Short listed applicants will be contacted for an interview.
