3. Educational Qualification
The candidates applying for post-doctoral program at BITS should have any Higher Degree such as M.E./M.Pharm./MBA/M.Phil or its equivalent with a minimum of 60% aggregate in the qualifying examination.
Candidates with an M.Sc./B.E./B.Pharm or an equivalent degree with a minimum of 60% aggregate may also be considered for Ph.D. admission subject to their suitability and competence.
For Ph.D. Program in Humanities and Social Sciences, candidates with an M.A. and with minimum of 55% aggregate may apply.

5. Selection Process – Written Test and Interview.
Test Pattern
Test will be conducted in two parts- Test-I and Test-II.
Test-I will be common to all disciplines and Test-II will be discipline specific.
(i). Pattern of Test-I
No. of Questions: 30
Type: Multiple-choice type questions
Sections: General Science, Quantitative Reasoning & Analysis and Research Aptitude.
Time Duration: 1 Hour
Marking Scheme: 2 marks for correct answer and (-0.5) marks for wrong answer.
(ii). Pattern of Test-II
No. of Questions: 70
Type: Multiple-choice type questions
Sections: Prescribed Syllabus.
Time Duration: 2 Hours
Marking Scheme: 2 marks for correct answer and (-0.5) marks for wrong answer.
