The Aachen Institute for Advanced Study in Computational Engineering Science (AICES) is a graduate school offering top-notch advisors for outstanding students seeking an interdisciplinary, research-driven PhD programme in computational engineering science.
More than 20 PhD candidates from eight countries are currently working on topics such as materials science, mechanical engineering, systems biology, mathematics and computer science. In addition to its own grant recipients, the graduate school has roughly 60 associated PhD students from various member institutions.

Admission
The AICES doctoral program is open to a limited number of extremely well-qualified students with a substantial background in their proposed field of study.
Bachelor degree holders applying for the course-based first year of the program should file their application by December for admission in Summer Semester, April for admission in Winter semester. Applications from Master or Diplom degree holders applying for the research stage of the program are accepted continuously.
All selected applicants with Bachelor degree will receive a tuition benefit and a stipend of 500 Euro per month during the coursework phase, and a stipend of 2000 Euro per month during the three years research phase.

The stipend is taxfree.
Requirements
The requirements for admission are: a recent Bachelor, Master or Diplom degree in CES , engineering, geoscience, mathematics or computer science, evidence of English-language skills, and, a high quality of scholarship evident from transcripts and other application materials.
