The Danish Polymer Centre (DPC) is a research centre at the Department of Chemical and Biochemical Engineering. With 5 faculty (one emeritus), 20 Ph.D. and Post Docs, a technician and a secretary, the centre performs research and research based teaching in polymer science and engineering. The centre is currently seeking a Research Scientist in Polymer Rheology.
Research Scientist in Polymer Rheology, DTU Chemical Eng.
Responsibilities and tasks
The candidate will be responsible for activities in connection with the rheology laboratory of the centre. Specific tasks will include rheological and structural characterization of model polymers and the interpretation in relation to molecular architecture. The candidate will also give support to Ph.D. and Masters Students in the centre.
Qualifications
Candidates should have a PhD degree or equivalent. The candidate must have documented extensive experience with shear and especially non-linear extensional rheology both theoretically and experimentally. Experience in connection with production of large areas of functional nanostructures for food packaging is required. Simulation of polymer flow in processes such as extrusion and embossing must be documented.

Salary and terms of employment
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Confederation of Professional Associations. The allowance will be agreed with the relevant union.
The post of research scientist is a permanent post as part of which the employee after a maximum of 4 years transfers to a position as senior research scientist provided that the employee is recommended for assessment and is deemed qualified.
