IIT (www.iit.it) invites qualified applicants for a postdoctoral position in complex network analysis of brain structural and functional connectivity at the Center for Neuroscience and Cognitive Systems of IIT in Trento.The Center for Neuroscience and Cognitive Systems – CNCS is hosted within the facilities of the Center for Mind/Brain Sciences – CIMeC (http://www.unitn.it/cimec), an interdisciplinary teaching and research center in cognitive neuroscience of the University of Trento in Rovereto, Italy. CIMeC also hosts a Doctoral School in Cognitive and Brain Sciences (http://www.unitn.it/en/drcimec). We invite applications for a PostDoctoral position focusing on the study of brain functional and structural connectivity by complex network analysis. Specifically, we intend to develop and apply advanced methods to investigate topological aspects of brain networks, with an emphasis on modular structure and multilayer networks.
Areas of interest include:
Evolution of functional resting state networks
Relationship between brain structural and functional connectivity
Identification of network alterations in neurological and psychiatric conditions
The successful applicant will work in Rovereto (Tn), at the Center for Neuroscience and Cognitive Systems, where she/he will have access to excellent computational facilities and will have the opportunity to interact with experimentalists working with neuroimaging methods (fMRI, sMRI, MEG, NIRS, EEG).
The ideal candidate has a PhD in Physics, Computer Science, Neuroimaging or related disciplines, and a proven track record in graph theory and complex network analysis. Previous experience with the processing of neuroimaging data with standard software packages (FSL, SPM, AFNI etc.) would be an advantage. Fluency in English is a requirement.
Salary is internationally competitive and commensurate with the candidate’s experience. The position will be available for 2 years.
