POST DOCTORAL FELLOW POSITION at The PV Technology Laboratory (www.pvtechnology.ucy.ac.cy) of FOSS Research Centre for Sustainable Energy (www.foss.ucy.ac.cy) at the announces one vacancy for a Post Doctoral Fellow.
The Photovoltaic Technology group is one of the constituent groups of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) of the University of Cyprus. The main scope of our group is to create a strong scientific research team in Cyprus capable of accomplishing worldwide research tasks in the field of PV in collaboration with established Institutes abroad.
We believe that there are enormous opportunities for Cyprus to utilise solar technologies given the high levels of irradiance in Cyprus.
Requirements / Qualifications: The minimum requirements for the position are: Ø First Degree (with at least a 2.1 class or equivalent) in one of the following:
- Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Physics.
- PhD in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Physics.
Prior experience in any of the following fields will be considered beneficial:
Photovoltaic Systems (PV), Signal Processing, Grid Integration, Building Integration of Photovoltaics (BIPV), Nearly Zero Energy Buildings (NZEB), PV system modelling and degradation, Data analysis and the use of algorithms for the identification of problems in the operation of PV systems, Ability to design, set up and operate data acquisition systems for PV related experiments, Excellent practical skills for the development and conduct of experiments with PV systems.
The monthly salary is in the range of €2000-3000. The salary can vary depending on experience and qualifications. The initial contract is for one (1) year with the possibility of renewal based on successful progress.
