Postdoctoral Research Fellowship Health Sciences/Medical Sciences Mangosuthu University of Technology (MUT), Umlazi, Durban, KwaZulu Natal, South Africa. Scope of Research Mangosuthu University of Technology is in the process of strengthening its research in the next generation Medical and Health Sciences. To realise some of the goals of this project, a postdoctoral fellowship is offered by MUT.
The incumbent should be able to demonstrate an understanding of the OMICS technologies with specific reference to proteomics, genomics, transcriptomics, bioinformatics and molecular cloning. The incumbent should be able to in-corporate research findings of high quality which could lead to development of partnership within the life– and health industries.
The incumbent should be able to analyse results and produce high quality manuscripts for publication in DHET accredited journals as well as funding agencies. The incumbent should be able to work independently and at times, with a team, and provide research advice to Masters and PhD candidates within the Project.
Minimum Requirements
A Doctoral Degree in Genetics, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Biology, Immunology, or a related field, obtained within the past 10 years
Experience in writing research publications
Experience in writing quality funding proposals
Ability to work independently and develop projects and undertake research
Excellent social and team working skills
A proven publication record
Fluent in written and spoken English
Registrable with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA)
