Postdoctoral position in Immunology: The department of Clinical Microbiology, Umeå University, is looking for a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher in Immunology. The 2-year, full-time position will be based at the division of Immunology.
Position description: The project will be conducted under the supervision of Assistant professor Mattias Forsell, who was recently recruited from Karolinska Institutet and has established an independent research program at Umeå University. The central focus of the group is to understand regulatory processes that govern humoral immunity during health and disease.
The focus of the postdoctoral position is to investigate regulatory pathways for normal and malignant B cell activity. The emphasis is on intracellular pathways that are affected by monoamine neurotransmitter signaling. Cell culture of primary murine and human B cells and human-derived cancer cell lines will be central for this work. Methodology includes chromatin immunoprecipitation and sequencing, mass spectrometry, bone marrow transfer techniques, Flow cytometry and cell sorting, cell culture, confocal microscopy and standard molecular biology methods. Animal models for vaccination and cancer will be used.
