As such, it is expected to achieve the policies laid out by the Japanese government in the Science and Technology Basic Plan and its own 5-year Mid-term Program based thereon, and to contribute to materials research and the enhancement of science and technology.

Although the Science and Technology Basic Plan and NIMS Mid-Term Program are established in consideration of social needs, in recent years, solutions to global problems, as exemplified by the environment, energy, and resources, from the field of materials research have been particularly desired.Field or Position: Postdoctoral Researcher (Fixed Term )

Job Summary: An Efficient Screening Method by Materials Simulation and Informatics Techniques for Battery Materials 

Qualification: The applicant should (or is expected to) have a Ph.D. degree in the field of science or engineering. We are seeking a postdoctoral researcher who will pursue computational challenges using materials simulation techniques, such as density functional theory and/or force-field approaches, combined with informatics approaches for the development of battery materials. The works will involve computer programing and advanced applications of commercial softwares. We especially welcome self-motivated individuals with strong backgrounds in science / engineering.

Arrival Time: As early as possible

Term: One year (extention possible up to 4.5 years depending on his/her performance)

Work Place: Satellite office of National Institute for Materials Science (NIMS) at Nagoya Institute of Technology, Gokiso, Showa-ku, Nagoya, Aichi, 466-8555, Japan
In case of any changes in operation of the center, there may be a move to NIMS (Tsukuba) in the future.

Work Hours: 7 hours 45 minutes a day (negotiable as the flex-time system)

Salary / Supply : Followed by NIMS regulations.(National Insurance is included.)
