Postdoctoral opportunity in-vivo human MRS at the Weizmann Institute of Science,  Israel

The In-Vivo Magnetic Resonance research group at the Weizmann Institute of Science seeks highly motivated post-doctoral candidates for developing cutting edge MR neurospectroscopy and spectroscopic imaging methodologies.

About The Work

The project will investigate the use of very high order shimming in magnetic resonance spectroscopy of the human brain at clinical field strengths, using cutting-edge shimming technology. The work is expected to yield new tools and significantly impact the way neurospectroscopy is carried out at 3T. Post-doctoral candidates will be expected to implement new sequences on a 3 Tesla Siemens scanner, develop new methodologies of utilizing the new shimming technology and analyze their impact on spectroscopy and spectroscopic imaging experiments. Ideal candidates will have strong quantitative skills and a background in MR physics, sequence programming and/or MR spectroscopy.

How to Apply

Please email your CV, a letter describing your research interests and long term goals, and the names and contact details of at least two references to Dr. Assaf Tal, assaf.tal@weizmann.ac.il.

About The Institute.

The Weizmann Institute is internationally renown and has played a major role in the history of magnetic resonance. It currently houses multiple labs studying diverse phenomena ranging from electron paramagnetism of proteins to solid state NMR, hyperpolarization techniques, functional neuroimaging and in-vivo spectroscopy and imaging in animal models and in humans. The Institute offers advanced extensive facilities, including a 3 Tesla human MRI scanner, multiple NMR spectrometers (including an 800 MHz Bruker) and several animal preclinical imagers (4.7T, 9.4T), and provides an outstanding intellectual environment within a beautiful campus.
