Postdoc in Synthetic Carbohydrate Chemistry:  A postdoctoral position for 14 months is available as of 1st of November 2015 at the Department of Chemistry at Aarhus University, Denmark, in the group of Associate Professor Henrik H. Jensen.

Organization: The Department of Chemistry at Aarhus University is in terms of scientific impact one of the leading European chemistry departments with research programs that range from medicinal chemistry to theoretical chemistry. It has a permanent staff of 27 full and associate professors, a support-staff of ~28 people, ~150 PhD-students and postdocs, and more than 500 students.

Project tasks / responsibilities: 

In the group, we develop new protocols for oligosaccharide synthesis and investigate how various electronic effects influence glycosyl donor reactivity. We are looking for a creative person, who will independently manage, plan and perform experiments, and who is also motivated to work with students and collaborators.

Qualifications and requirements
– The candidate must hold a PhD degree in synthetic organic and preferably have postdoctoral experience

– The candidate must have a strong track record with several first-authorships in high-impact chemistry journals

– The candidate must have significant and well-documented experience in carbohydrate chemistry and in performing glycosylation reactions.

– The candidate must have good oral and written communication skills
