Postdoctoral fellowships (7 positions) in multiple disciplines studied at the Tampere University of Technology, Finland: The University is seeking to fill 7 postdoctoral fellowship positions with promising researchers who are in the beginning of their career. The aim is to support highly qualified postdoctoral researchers who are outstanding in their field and to strengthen the scientific profile of TUT.

TUT’s research activities focus on four profile areas:

  • Digital operating environment,
  • Energy- and eco-efficiency,
  • Health technology and
  • Light-based technologies.

Key tasks involved: The research tasks will be specified to suit the candidate’s interest and expertise. The research work will be conducted in one of the existing research groups at TUT. The candidates are requested to identify the research group they wish to join. Key Requirements / Qualificatios: The call is open to postdoctoral researchers who

•hold an applicable doctoral degree
(the dissertation must be submitted and proof must be available by 1 March 2016.)
• have completed their doctoral degree no longer than 4 years* prior to the deadline
(degree certificate issued 15.1.2012–1.3.2016).
• have not lived in Finland for longer than 12 months during the last 36 months before the deadline

*For applicants with children, 1 year per child will be added to the permitted duration.

The applicant should be able to plan and conduct research work independently. We especially appreciate researchers with international academic experience.

Salary: The salary will be based on both the job demands and the employee’s personal performance in accordance with the University Salary System. According to the criteria applied to teaching and research staff the position of a Postdoctoral researcher is placed on the job demands level 5, meaning a salary in the range of 2,900–4,100 euros/month, depending on the researcher’s experience.
