Argonne offers special fellowships to be awarded to international outstanding doctoral scientists and engineers who are at early points in promising careers. Enrico Fermi Fellowship is awarded yearly in October. Application process opens in August. Candidates for the fellowships must display excellent ability in scientific or engineering research and must demonstrate definite promise of becoming outstanding leaders in the research they carryout.
Duration: up to 3 years; with the possibility of retention.
Eligibility:
- Applicant must be within 3 years of having received the Doctorate at the time of application, or
- Applicant must be in the process of completing their degree requirements.
- Applicant must meet all PhD requirements at the beginning of the appointment.
How to Apply:
- Applications to be filled with the following documents through the application portal.
- Abstract (may be included as one document with proposal)- ~200 words
- Research proposal- not more than two pages (not including references)
- Cover Letter (short description interests in pursuing research at Argonne, significant experiences and career goals).
- Resume (with list of publications, abstracts, significant presentations, patents and other relevant activities, especially those that demonstrate leadership experience)
- Grade Transcripts (Graduate School)
- 3 letters of recommendation
