The Biotechnology Centre of Oslo invites applications for the post of Platform Manager/Researcher. The position is permanent, full-time available at the Chemical Biology Platform. BiO is a Centre for molecular biology, biotechnology and bioinformatics within the University of Oslo (UiO), dedicated to research and post-graduate training in addition to operating a number of technology platforms.
Requirements:
- highly motivated individual with an excellent track record, who appreciates working in an international and interactive environment
- must have strong interest and understanding of chemical biology, high throughput screening or experience in robotics/automation in this field
- experience in platform/ unit management is necessary, preferably from a similar field/ area
- must have background in chemical biology and assay development and is interested in continuing to develop a technology platform for high throughput screening and chemical biology
Qualifications:
- Applicant must hold Doctorate in biotechnology or a related area like engineering, chemistry, biochemistry or biology.
- Applicant must have management experience from similar activity
- Applicant having experience in chemical biology assay development and screening will have advantage
- Applicants with strong background and hands-on experience in robotic technology will be preferred
- Applicant having experience with cell-based assays will have an advantage
- Applicant must be trustworthy, well organized that has the flexibility needed for working in a service-oriented context.
- Applicant must possess good communication skills in English (written and oral); Basic knowledge in Norwegian is preferred (written and oral).
- Applicant must demonstrate ability to operate as a team player in a multi-disciplinary environment
