CHEUROPE (Critical Heritage Studies and the Future of Europe- Towards an integrated, interdisciplinary and transnational training model in cultural heritage research and management). CHEurope Initial Training Network focuses on developing a new integrated theoretical and methodological framework to enhance the academic and professional training and open future job opportunities in cultural heritage preservation, management and promotion.
CHEurope will train 15 Early Stage Researchers (ESR) under five themes:
- Theorizing heritage futures in Europe: heritage scenarios – University College London (UK), University Institute of Lisbon (ISCTE-IUL) [PT] (2 PhD positions)
- Curating the city: trans-disciplinary inheritance/disinheritance processes in urban settings -University of Gothenburg [SE], University of Amsterdam [NL], University of Hasselt [BE], Istituto Beni Culturali Regione Emilia Romagna [IT] (4 PhD positions)
- Digital heritage: the future role of heritage and archive collections in a digital world – University of Gothenburg , University College London, Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Cientificas [ES], University of Utrecht [NL] (4 PhD positions)
- Heritage and wellbeing: migration and dislocation – University of Gothenburg , University College London (2 PhD positions)
- Heritage management and citizen participation in a multi-cultural world – Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Cientificas, University of Amsterdam (3 PhD positions).
Duration: 36 months
Starting date: April 2017
Fellowship value:
- living allowance
- mobility and family allowance (if applicable) according to the Marie-Sklodowska-Curie Horizon 2020 criteria
Eligibility:
- Applicant must hold Master’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field. However, individual departments and universities may have their own specific entry requirements.
- Applicants must be in the first 4 years (full-time equivalent) of their research career and must not been awarded a PhD degree.
- Applicant must not have legally stayed or have had their main activity (work, studies, etc.) in the host country for more than a year in the last 3 years at the time of their recruitment
- Applications are invited from nationals of any country.
- Applicant must accept to be seconded in partner organizations as scheduled in their research description during their research.
