National Brain Research Centre (NBRC) offers a PhD and M.Sc programmes in Neuroscience. Students from diverse academic backgrounds are considered for this programme. NBRC is one of the few Institutes in the country to offer M.Sc. (Neuroscience) degree.

Fellowship value:

PhD

  • Junior Research Fellows is 25,000/month
  • Senior Research Fellows 28,000/month

M.Sc. (Neuroscience)

  • Students are provided a fellowship of 12,000/month.

Eligibility:

For PhD programme

  • Applicant must hold Master’s degree or equivalent in any branch of Science such as Life Sciences, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer applications, Pharmacy, Veterinary Science, Psychology from a recognized Institute / University OR
  • Applicant must hold minimum of four-year Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Engineering / Technology / Medicine from a recognized Institute / University.
  • Students appearing for final year of the qualifying examination are also eligible to apply.
  • Students with at least 55% (50% for SC / ST / PH candidates) marks or equivalent grade or grade point average from secondary (10th) examination onwards will be considered.
  • Applicants must calculate their percentage up to two decimal points to determine their eligibility.

M.Sc. (Neuroscience)

  • Applicant must hold Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in any branch of Science such as Life Sciences / Physics / Chemistry / Mathematics / Statistics / Computer applications / Pharmacy / Veterinary Science / Psychology / Engineering / Technology / Medicine from a recognized Institute / University.
  • Applicants appearing for final year of the qualifying examination are also eligible to apply
  • Applicant with at least 55% (50% for SC / ST / PH candidates) marks or equivalent grade from secondary (10th) examination onwards will be considered.
  • Applicants must calculate their percentage up to two decimal points to determine their eligibility.

Note: Candidates selected for M.Sc. (Neuroscience) programme will be eligible to switch to M.Sc.-Ph.D. Integrated programme of NBRC if they fulfill the required criteria.
