The Max Planck Institute (MPI) for Chemical Energy Conversion and the department Molecular Theory and Spectroscopy invites applications for a Postdoctoral Fellow position with a PhD degree in Theoretical Chemistry.
Research topic: Excited state coupled cluster theory with local correlation methods
About the project:
- The project involves implementing, bench marking and applying local correlation methods within various equations of motion frameworks (EE, IP, EA, STEOM).
- Selected candidate will have the opportunity to carry out innovative research in theoretical method development and computational chemistry, both individually and collaboratively.
- Candidate will get an opportunity to work in the stimulating environment of a highly active and internationally renowned theoretical chemistry department of the Max Planck Society.
Start date: available immediately, preferably no later than March 2017.
Duration: initially for 12 months; extension is possible

Eligibility:
- Applicant must hold a PhD degree in theoretical chemistry or a related discipline.
- Applicant must meet the following criteria: familiarity with the basic mathematical formulation and physical background of wave function based quantum chemical methods; experience with the implementation of complex computational algorithms.
