The Max Planck Institute for Terrestrial Microbiology invites applications for a full time scientific position in the Facility for Microbial Proteomics and Mass Spectrometry. Quantitative proteomics has become a valuable technology in life science research. A highly motivated, science-driven, collaborative and service-oriented scientist with experience in protein chemistry, mass spectrometry, and protein characterization is required to join the Core Facility.
Responsibilities:
- supervise and collaborate with scientists on multiple projects and contribute to standard operations in mass spectrometry; and,
- implementation, evaluation and further development of advanced experimental proteomic workflows with a focus on structural and phosphoproteomic strategies
Requirements:
- Applicant must hold PhD in Life Science or equivalent with practical experience in MS-based proteomics including proteomics sample preparation, hands-on MS experience and data analysis.
- Experience with structural proteomic and/or phosphoproteomic workflows would be beneficial.
- Applicant is expected to have profound expertise in data analysis.
- Applicant should be able to interact with scientists from a variety of backgrounds, team-oriented, self-motivated and enjoy working in a highly collaborative and fast-paced environment.
Duration: initially two years; may be extended depending on performance
Applications:
- Applications should be sent as a single pdf file by e-mail to: jobs-proteomics@mpi-marburg.mpg.de and must include the following:
