Phd Position on The Integration Of Kinase – Phosphatase Signaling

Reference: BAP-2019-124

The Laboratory of Biosignaling an Therapeutics, headed by Prof. Mathieu Bollen, has a long-standing interest in the regulation of proteins by reversible phosphorylation. A position is available for a motivated PhD student to explore how protein kinases and phosphatases work together to generate pulse-like signaling responses.

Research project:

We have recently identified a biochemical timer that controls the mid-mitotic checkpoint. This timer stems from the integration of a counteracting kinase and phosphatase, and serves to activate the checkpoint before a sensor-dependent mechanism becomes operational.
