Ph.D Student and Post-doctoral Opportunities in Medicinal Chemistry, Beijing Institute of Technology, Beijing, CHINA
We are seeking independent and highly motivated candidates with a background in organic chemistry and medicinal chemistry. This lab’s main interest is to rationally design and synthesize bioactive analogues of the natural molecules and identify the structure-activity relationships Prof Jian-Hua Liang (ljhbit@bit.edu.cn). Researcher ID: http://www.researcherid.com/rid/A-1186-2013).
Specifically, we are investigating potent molecules against drug resistant cancer, resistant pathogens, Alzheimer’s disease and diabetes, etc. To achieve this goal, we employ a combination of natural product screening and structural modification to define effective chemicals, and work in collaboration with other biological groups to study the underlying mechanisms.
Requirements for Post-doctoral positions:
Candidates should have a PhD degree in organic chemistry and medicinal chemistry. The competitive candidates should have a good publication list in the journals as follows: Journal of Medicinal Chemistry, European Journal of Medicinal Chemistry, Bioorganic & Medicinal Chemistry, Organic Letters, Journal of Organic Chemistry. The candidates should work independently and actively. The salary plus benefits can reach 200,000 to 260,000 Chinese yuan per year. Please note only qualified candidates will be notified.
The contract requirements:
The candidates are required, within a two-year contract, to publish at least two papers in the Journals mentioned above and apply for a Chinese National Natural Science Foundation or Post-doctoral Foundation. The candidates should not be older than 32 years. The candidates have opportunities to be a faculty in Beijing Institute of Technology being an assistant professor.
Requirements for Ph D candidates:
Two Ph.D degree positions supported by Chinese Scholarship Council (CSC) are available in the laboratory of Prof. Jian-Hua Liang in the faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, Beijing Institute of Technology (http://isc.bit.edu.cn/schools/ceae/knowingprofessors3/121643.htm). Candidates should have a master degree in organic chemistry, medicinal chemistry and related field to chemical synthesis. Publications on international journals are a plus.
Interested applicants should apply for CSC Scholarship at first (refer to the instruction http://isc.bit.edu.cn/admissionsaid/financialaid/scholarships/112920.htm). After passing the initial review (complete step 1-3 in the above instruction), the applicant should send a detailed CV, full papers in peer-reviewed journals, the contact information of three references, and also the application information (CSC serial number, BIT application number and the number of your Initial Review Notice) to: Prof Jian-Hua Liang (ljhbit@bit.edu.cn).
