Postdoctoral Researcher: Biosciences 1327 views

The College of Dentistry at Ohio State University is seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher to work collaboratively with the Division of Biosciences. This position is for maximum 4-year duration and is dependent on grant funding.

About the position:
  • The selected fellow will work on NIH funded projects focusing on normal and pathological development and mineralization of mouse and human dental tissues, and strategies for repair and regeneration of these tissues.
  • Duties include: design and conduct experiments and analyze results in consultation with the principal investigator; work with other team members to advance lab projects; perform in vitro and in vivo experiments; maintain mouse breeding colonies, perform injections, surgeries, and other procedures, and collect tissue samples; perform tissue processing, histology, histomorphometry, microscope imaging, and micro-computed tomography (micro-CT); assist the principal investigator with training and supervision of students and other lab personnel; write manuscripts and assist with preparation of data for publication in research journals, presentation at scientific meetings, and inclusion in grant applications; present data at local, national, and international scientific conferences.

Requirements:

  • Applicant must hold Doctorate in Molecular Genetics, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; experience in craniofacial genetics and/or development biology; skills in mouse genetics, experimental embryology, cell biology, molecular biology and stem cell biology;
  • Applicant must be self-motivated, organized, and detail-oriented, enthusiastic about basic, clinical, and translational science, to join a dynamic and productive team-based laboratory studying the molecular biology of dental and skeletal development.
