The Department of Engineering at Swansea University is inviting applications for a position of Research Assistant for the project AFM2 – Application of Functionalised Micro & Nano Materials – scale up to volume production.
Essential criteria:
- A Degree in Engineering or equivalent
- Evidence of the ability to engage in and contribute to writing and publishing research papers, particularly for refereed journals.
- A demonstrable ability to conduct research in line with the aims of the project
- Evidence of planning skills to contribute to the research project
- A knowledge of screen printing
- A knowledge of ink formulation and manufacture
- A demonstrable understanding of shear rheology of complex multi-phase fluids
- Experience of working on site with industry
- A commitment to continuous professional development
Desirable Criteria:
- PhD or equivalent in engineering or related subject relevant to printing
- Driving licence
- Knowledge of advanced rheology, specifically SAOS and CSPS
- Knowledge of all volume printing processes
