The Max Planck Research Group of EPR Spectroscopy of Metallorganic Complexes at the Max Planck Institute for Chemical Energy Conversion is inviting applications from highly motivated candidates for Doctoral and Postdoc Research Positions (m/f/d).

About the position:

• Successful candidates will employ advanced inorganic spectroscopic techniques to characterize (bio)inorganic copper systems and their reactivity with dioxygen.
• A variety of spectroscopic techniques, including advanced electron paramagnetic resonance, X-ray, and optical spectroscopies are employed to characterize a variety of intermediates.
• The candidate will apply spectro-electrochemical techniques to understanding the chemical process and mechanism of O-O bond formation and cleavage.
• A strong background and/or interest for the spectro-electrochemical characterization of copper-oxygen systems are desired.

Requirements:

• Applicant must have completed master’s degree in chemistry or closely related field for PhD applicants.
• A completed PhD in inorganic/physical chemistry or a closely related field for postdoctoral candidates. Strong Master’s candidates will also be considered.
• Documented scientific achievements and fluency in both written and spoken English
• Scientific software knowledge (Matlab preferred) and Electrochemistry knowledge (preferred)
