Nanterre, France EconomiX (http://economix.fr/)–a research center in economics operated by the CNRS and the University of Paris Ouest–currently has a job opening for a Post Doctoral position for a research project funded by the Conseil Français de l’Energie (http://www.wecfrance.org/).This project entitled Developing countries’ vulnerabilities to oil prices, carbon policy and climate change focuses on (i) analyzing the economic impacts of oil price shocks on oil importing and exporting developing countries, (ii) identifying and quantifying the economic impacts of reforming and re-directing energy subsidies in developing countries, and (iii) exploring the nexus between growth and energy in developing countries through the following channels: the quality of institutions, energy consumption and climate change.
The position requires strong skills in econometrics, including programming experience with various econometric software (such as MatLab, Stata, R?), expertise in working with international databases, and a demonstrated interest in energy issues, including topics related to impacts of energy prices, carbon policy and climate change in developing countries. In addition, some knowledge about DSGE models is desirable.
The postdoctoral fellow is expected to engage in unique research of high quality and to participate in the academic and intellectual life of the research center (co-authoring of academic papers and notes; participation to conferences and workshops; organization of seminars, workshops and conferences; etc.).
Salary and duration: 1 600.00 – 1 900.00 e net per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The position is for a one-year appointment beginning the 1 st of November, 2015 and may be renewable for a second year upon satisfactory performance.
