The doctoral program within the International Max Planck Research School for Interface Controlled Materials for Energy Conversion (IMPRS-SurMat) is offering a PhD position in the field of Nanoscience in full time for three years.

About the research:
  • The research is embedded into a strong collaborative research activity at the University Duisburg-Essen and the Max Plank Institute.
  • The proposed project will combine the thriving research fields of laser synthesis of alloy nanoparticles in liquid, their respective nano analytics of the element distribution on the atomic scale, and finally their catalytic characterization.
  • The main goal is to identify what drives the atomic distribution and catalytic activity of laser-generated sub-5 nm high entropy alloy nanoparticles.

Requirements:

  • Applicant must hold an excellent Master’s Degree, with a strong background in the fields of nanosciences, structure analytics, and solid-state physics
  • Applicant must possess very good English proficiency.

Remuneration: scholarships of 1.365 EUR per month. Additional allowances for children and health insurance are possible. The application of students with owns funding is also welcome.

Starting date: as soon as possible
