The Max Planck Institute (MPI) for Solid State Research is inviting applications for a postdoctoral research position in Condensed Matter Theory. The position will be part of a new Max Planck Research Group led by Dr. Laura Classen working in the field of condensed matter theory. The group will investigate the collective behavior of interacting electrons in modern quantum materials, involving the understanding of underlying quantum effects and characterization of resulting electronic states. The position is available as of October 2021 with duration of two years initially.
Research topics: Strongly Correlated Electrons, Unconventional Superconductivity, and Quantum Phase Transitions
Qualifications:
- Applicant must hold PhD in condensed matter theory, theoretical statistical physics or related discipline
- Applicant must have experience with quantum field theory methods
- Applicant must possess very good publication record in a relevant research field
Application:
Application to be sent via email to (as one pdf) l.classen@fkf.mpg.de including an application letter, curriculum vitae, and a list of publications with two recommendation letters.
