Doctoral position in BioNanoPhotonics 1346 views

The School of Engineering Sciences at KTH Royal Institute of Technology is seeking to recruit a PhD student for an interdisciplinary EU project to develop next generation fluorescence-based super-resolution microscopy for bacterial diagnostics. This development takes advanced single-molecule and super-resolution fluorescence spectroscopy and imaging techniques. The doctoral student will be supervised by: Professor Jerker Widengren.

Requirements:
  • Applicant must have passed a degree at advanced level viz., M.Sc. in Eng. Physics, Biophysics, Biophotonics, or Optics/Photonics. Applicant must have completed course requirements of at least 240 higher education credits, of which at least 60 higher education credits at advanced level, or in any other way acquired within or outside the country acquired essentially equivalent knowledge.
  • Requirements for English equivalent to English B/6
  • Strong interest in biomedicine and programming skills.
  • Practical experience from optical/fluorescence spectroscopy/imaging.
  • Background in several of the following: optics/photonics, nanotechnology, microfluidics, cellular and molecular biology, theoretical simulations, and scientific programming.
