Scholarship for Anesthetists ANZCA, Australia/NewZealand

To encourage leadership in anesthesia including ICU and pain medicine in budding countries, by giving a recently competent expert with the prospect to pursue added training in Australia or New Zealand.

The program is planned to increase the recipient’s aptitude to advance anesthesia and/or pain medicine for the advantage of his or her society. The scholarship will offer an opportunity for the beneficiary to advance acquaintance, skills and attributes across the following roles:  Medical specialist in anesthesia and/or pain medicine, raconteur and collaborator, administrator, Health activist, researcher and tutor, Professional.

 Eligibility: Applicants are requisite to satisfy the following points:

  • Graduate of his or her country’s specialty training program to local fellowship or master’s level.
  • Age- 25-40 years.
  • Citizen of a developing country.
  • Should not have residency status in Australia or New Zealand.
  • Request is supported by an Australian or New Zealand Specialist Anesthetist or Specialist Pain Medicine doctor.
  • Meets the applicable Australian and New Zealand government immigration rules.
  • Meets the eligibility criteria by the government of his/her country of citizenship.
  • English language proficiency (e.g, IELTS).
  • Capability to be a leader in anaesthesia and/or pain medicine in his/her self country.
  • Submission of application on the appropriate form, supported by sponsorship statements and contact details of referees.
  • Should be able to commence the scholarship in the calendar year for which it is offered.
  • Should not hold an additional scholarship throughout the time of this scholarship.

Funding will cover:

  1. Return economy class airfare between home countries.
  2. Support for family travel may be given.
  3. Visa, medical insurance, registration, police check and other related expenses
  4. Living allowance.
  5. Expenses of attendance at permitted educational activities.

Conditions:

  • Supervisor in the training hospital must be chosen to give supervision for the scholarship holder.
  • Meet with his/her overseer at least every 3 months and complete an In Training evaluation form (or equivalent).
  • The same shall be submitted to the Chair of the Overseas Aid Committee.
  • The grant may be withdrawn if these terms are not fulfilled.
