Visiting Fellowships: International Law, Melbourne Law School 1793 views

Visiting Fellowships: Applications are called from suitably competent doctoral and early career scholars to take part in the Laureate Program in International Law at Melbourne Law School. The Laureate Program is sponsored by the Australian Research Council and led by Prof. Anne Orford.

The Program institutes a new interdisciplinary research team, working on a major project titled Civil War, Intervention, and International Law. The project concerns one of the most persistent questions in present international law and politics: whether, and if so when, it is lawful for external actors to recruit, train, arm, equip, finance, or intervene militarily in support of parties engaged in a civil war. The Kathleen Fitzpatrick Visiting Fellowships are offered yearly, and are intended to enable outstanding female doctoral and early career researchers to visit Melbourne Law School and work with the Laureate Program for up to two months. Fellows will be closely incorporated into the Laureate program, participate in events and workshops, contribute in reading groups and work-in-progress seminars, and be called to participate in the final international conference in 2020.
