Assistant Professor position in Chemistry at King’s, Wilkes-Barre, PA. King’s College, Wilkes-Barre, PA seeks an Assistant Professor of Chemistry; organic chemistry; tenure-track; beginning in August 2016. The successful applicant will be responsible for teaching undergraduate general & organic chemistry lecture & laboratory courses (as an ACS-Certified Dept, there may be the opportunity to teach advanced courses in the discipline) and will occasionally teach general education courses as a part of the College’s core curriculum. Interested candidates should be committed to teaching at an institution where the liberal arts are emphasized and prepared to develop a research program suitable for the inclusion of undergraduate science majors at such an institution. Applicants with a wide variety of research interests are expected; however, the ideal candidate would have research interests in the areas of biochemistry and/or computational chemistry. Successful candidates will also support the Holy Cross Mission and Catholic identity of the College.

Requirements: Requirements include a Ph.D. in Chemistry and experience teaching at the college level. Consideration will be given to ABDs if all requirements for the doctorate will be completed by August 1. There is an expectation of being actively involved in the College community outside of the classroom.
