Faculty Position in Physical Chemistry, especially Electrochemistry (Tenure Track or Tenured)

Aalto University School of Chemical Technology invites applications for:

TENURE TRACK OR TENURED POSITION IN PHYSICAL CHEMISTRY, ESPECIALLY ELECTROCHEMISTRY, which can be filled on any level from Assistant Professor to Tenured Full Professor.

Aalto School of Chemical Technology is committed to the application of renewable starting materials to create environmentally friendly and energy efficient processes and products.

Research and teaching in the Department of Chemistry focus on all the key areas of chemistry, including inorganic, organic, physical, analytical and computational chemistry. The department carries out basic and advanced research of high-quality and educates skilled and sought-after chemistry experts to serve both business and society.

Department of Chemistry has strong research focus on materials and techniques related to new energy technologies. Hence preference is given to candidates with expertise in novel electrochemical energy conversion and storage techniques. Applicable candidates should have strong background in fundamental studies and experimental investigations, and focus preferably on novel technologies employing electrolytes such as polymers, composites or ionic liquids.

The successful candidate is expected to conduct teaching and present high class research that strengthens and complements the existing efforts in the departments.

Requirements

Throughout their careers, those in the academic tenure track system are expected to exercise and guide scientific research, to provide related higher academic education, to follow the advances of their field,  to participate in service to the Aalto University community, and to take part in societal interaction and international collaboration in their field.

The applicants will be reviewed on the basis of their research, teaching and academic leadership and activity in scientific community.

Salary

Aalto University follows the salary system of Finnish universities, but applicants may also provide salary requirements.
