The Faculty of Social Sciences (FaSS), Centre for Ethnic and Migration Studies (CEDEM) at the Université de Liège invites applications for scholarships to work at doctoral and post-doctoral level as part of the Migration, Transnationalism and Social Protection in (post-)crisis Europe project (MiTSoPro).
Starting date: September 2018
Duration:
- Doctoral positions: full-time, fixed-term; 3 years
- Post-doctoral position: full-time, fixed-term; 3 years
Requirements:
For Doctoral positions:
- MA in Social Sciences viz., Sociology, Social Policy, Anthropology, Political Science
- Experience conducting ethnographic fieldwork
- Specialty in social policy and/or migration is an asset
- Language skills: English plus (at least) one of the following: Arabic, French, Italian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian or Spanish
For postdoc position:
- PhD in Social Sciences viz., Sociology, Social Policy, Anthropology, Political Science
- Experience in conducting ethnographic fieldwork at the doctoral level
- Research experience in social policy and/or migration is an asset
- The applicant must have obtained a doctoral degree within the last eight years or be in a position to obtain a doctoral degree before 1 November 2018.
- 2 published articles in international peer-reviewed journals
- Language skills: English plus (at least) one of the following: Arabic, French, Italian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian or Spanish
- The applicant must not have resided/been employed/been a student in Belgium for more than 24 months during the 3 years before the start of the postdoctoral contract
