03 Group Leader Positions in Plant Chromosome Biology 760 views

The Max Planck Institute for Plant Breeding Research (MPIZ) is inviting applications for three 5-year group leader positions in the field of plant genetics. The working language is English.

About the positions:
  • The three group leader positions will be available for the study of plant meiosis and related subjects.
  • The positions are for five years.
  • The group of the successful applicant is expected to be initiated in the second half of 2019 and will be supported by a technician, a postdoc or student and running costs from the Institute’s core budget.
  • She/He is also expected to attract external funding.
  • The group will benefit from an excellent infrastructure including large plant growth facilities, in-house sequencing and computational facilities, phenotyping robot, confocal and super-resolution microscopes.
  • The salary will be according to German civil service conditions (TVöD Bund) and includes social security benefits.

Requirements:

  • The applicant must have an outstanding track record in related fields and at least 2 years postdoctoral experience.
  • The candidate must demonstrate an ability to pursue an innovative and internationally competitive research program.
  • Applicant must demonstrate an interest in subjects such as molecular mechanisms of meiosis, meiosis and evolution, meiosis and plant breeding, or genomics for recombination research.
