The Cell and Molecular Biology department at Uppsala University is inviting applications for 1-2 Postdoctoral positions in Microbiology with focus on understanding the role of bacterial interactions in regulating bacterial growth.
About the Project:
- The focus of this research group lies in understanding the role of bacterial toxin delivery systems in biology.
- The applicant is expected to drive multiple ambitious projects within the area
- Duties include general bacteriological and molecular biology work in the laboratory.
- Oral presentation and writing/editing of scientific papers and grant applications are part of the position.
- Teaching (up to 20%) can become included depending on the needs of the microbiology program.
Qualifications:
- Candidates are expected to be highly-motivated with a PhD degree in a Microbiology, Molecular Biology or similar.
- Candidate is expected to be able to work independently and to have a strong interest in bacterial interactions and is expected to take own initiatives as well as to collaborate with colleagues both within and outside of the research group.
- Ability to perform advanced microbiological and molecular biological tasks as well as simple bioinformatic analyses and SDS-page / western blot is required.
- The position is in an international context so good oral and written communication skills in English are essential.
