National Institute of Science Communication and Information Resource (NISCAIR) invites qualified Indian nationals for Walk-In-Interview On 08/01/2018 for 11 Research Interns positions. Candidates must be creative and have passion and desire to pursue S&T as a career.

Essential Qualification for Research Interns:

  • 1st class or equivalent GPA in BE/B. Tech in IT OR
  • 1st class or equivalent GPA in M.Sc. (Physics/ Chemistry/ Botany/ Zoology/ Life Sciences) OR
  • 1st class or equivalent GPA in M. Lib. Science

Desirable Qualification/ Experience

  • Degree/ Diploma in Science Communication/ Mass Communication/ Journalism/ Science Writing/ Production of radio/ TV programme/ Film production/Management/ Foreign Language(s) /Arts & Graphics
  • Experience of working in scientific/academic/ media organization in thefield of Science Communication programme/ activities/ publications, etc.
  • Experience of science writing/ editing of scientific research journals, magazines, publications, scripts, art work evident from publications/productions
  • Aptitude in science communication /Popularization/ Journalism evident from writing science articles/ delivering lecturers/ presenting radio/ TVprograms/ Art Designs supported by copies/ list of programmes/ publications
  • Proficiency in English/ Hindi/ Indian language(s)/ Foreign Language(s)

Job Requirement:

  • Science communication /Popularization activities including science writing, translation, editing of scientific journals/ magazines/ scripts, production of scientific and technical publications/ radio/ TV programmes/Arts & Graphics/ organization of outreach/ field programmes/ research, media related activities, etc.
  • The applicant should be well conversant with the use of Computers/ must possess writing skills in their specific areas of specialization/ able to conduct search through internet/ able to do routine correspondence/ management of library activities/ editing / compilation/ data management/ experience in data entry pertaining to NISCAIR activities.

Age Limit: Not more than 25 yrs. as on the date of interview which is relaxable up to 5 years in case of SC/ ST/OBC/ Physically Handicapped and female candidates.

Stipend: Rs.24000/- per month consolidated. No other allowance is admissible.

Duration: Maximum period of 02 yrs not extendable under any circumstances and subject to satisfactory performance to be evaluated every 06 months. The interns shall have no claim for further extension, absorption or regularization in CSIR after the expiry / termination of the internship.
