Twelve (12) PhD positions within the International Doctoral Program in Moleular Mechanisms of Disease (iMED) under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions at the University of Copenhagen (UCPH)

12 doctoral positions are open at BRIC, UCPH for talented young researchers who want to pursue a PhD degree in the field of life sciences. The scheme is co-funded by the European Union’s Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation Program under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie grant agreement no. 801481.

Overview

iMED offers young researchers a unique opportunity to join an international & interdisciplinary PhD program within the field of molecular mechanisms of disease. iMED offers a personalized research and training program, seeking to empower students to fully exploit the potential of their talent. The aim is to nurture scientific creativity, critical thinking, and collaborative skills to provide the groundwork for career tracks in academia or industry.

Eligibility criteria

  1. Motivated researchers with a Master degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field
  2. Maximum three years of experience since issuing of the degree at the time of application. Applicants with an MD can have up to five years of experience.
  3. Prolonged career breaks are taken into acoount (parental leave, illness, military- or civil service).
  4. Mobility is required and applicants must not have resided or carried out their main activities (work etc.) for more than 12 months in Denmark in the 3 years immediately prior to the call deadline.
  5. Applicants may not have been employed at UCPH more than three (03) months prior to deadline.

 Selection criteria

The selection process includes three steps of evaluation: shortlisting, evaluation and final selection. The selection will be merit-based, using weighed criteria in three defined areas:

  1. Education and track record
  2. Scientific potential
  3. Motivation

Fellowship: Depending on seniority, the monthly salary begins around 26,400 DKK (ca. 3,400 EUR).

Duration: The appointment as PhD fellow is for 3 years.
