SOAS University of London offers Fourteen SOAS Research Studentships for students who are proposing to register full-time for a research degree at SOAS.

Number of scholarships:

  • 04 scholarships for the Faculty of Arts and Humanities
  • 04 for the Faculty of Language and Cultures
  • 06 for the Faculty of Law and Social Sciences

Scholarship value: remission of tuition fees; maintenance allowance of at least £16,296.

Duration: the scholarship may be renewed for the normal duration of a full-time student’s registration (Subject to satisfactory progress); normal duration of a full-time student’s registration for a research degree is 3 years; award is therefore renewable for up to a further 2 years.

Eligibility:

  • Applicants must hold or expect a Distinction in their Master’s Degree from a UK university; non-UK degree applicants to be adjudged in the top rank by their referees and transcript.
  • Applicant must be new research students
  • Applicants must have an offer of place to a Research degree programme at SOAS by the time the scholarship selection process starts.
  • Applicants must meet the English language condition of their offer of admission to study.
  • Applicants currently pursuing Master’s degree are also welcome to apply.
  • Scholarship is open to Home/EU applicants and International applicants
