The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) is inviting applications from Indian biomedical scientists / Researchers for the international fellowships for the academic year 2018-19.

Total No. of fellowships available for the year:

For Young scientists-12

For Senior scientists-6

Duration:

For young scientists – 3-6 months

For senior scientists – 10-15 days

Eligibility Criteria:

  • D/PhD degree along with at least 3 years of teaching/research experience for young scientists and at least 15 years of experience for senior scientists
  • Should hold a regular position in a recognized biomedical or research or health institution in India
  • Age considerations:
    • Below 45 years of age for young
    • 57 years for senior scientists

Financial support offered:

  • Young scientists:
    • US$ 3000 per month – contingency grant is Rs. 20,000/- and return economy class air ticket fair (excursion airfare)
  • Senior scientists :
    • US$ 200 per day (including US$ 75 as per diem and US$ 125 is for accommodation), a contingency grant of Rs. 20,000/- and a return economy class air ticket (excursion airfare)

Note:

  • The applicant is required to submit a letter of acceptance from the potential foreign Institute where the candidate proposes to work.
  • Along-with a concrete research plan work to be undertaken during the fellowship should also be submitted.
  • Recommendation by the Head of the potential parent organization or institute is essential
  • Incomplete applications will not be considered
  • Decision of ICMR will be final
