The Department of Biology and Biological Engineering at Chalmers University of Technology invites applications for two Bioinformatics scientists.
Responsibilities:
- The selected candidate will deliver advanced bioinformatics and biostatistics analyses within nationally prioritised projects carried out in collaboration with research groups at Swedish universities or industry.
- The selected candidate will also develop tools and workflows for such analyses and will be actively promoting the concept of “reproducible research”.
- The selected candidate will educate other scientists in bioinformatics through collaboration within supported projects and by teaching at national courses and by networking.
- Other responsibilities are to take part in thecontinues improvement and development of the bioinformatics infrastructure, both at local and national levels.
Qualifications:
- PhD in Bioinformatics, Systems Biology, Data Science or other relevant Computational Science.
- Fluent oral and written communication skills in English.
- Candidate must have strong skills in cooperation and communication.
- Proficiency in working in linux-based computing environments, both HPC and Cloud.
- Candidate must also possess good programming/scripting skills.
