2 Bioinformatics Scientists: Biology and Biological Engineering 998 views

The Department of Biology and Biological Engineering at Chalmers University of Technology invites applications for two Bioinformatics scientists.

Responsibilities:

• The selected candidate will deliver advanced bioinformatics and biostatistics analyses within nationally prioritised projects carried out in collaboration with research groups at Swedish universities or industry.
• The selected candidate will also develop tools and workflows for such analyses and will be actively promoting the concept of “reproducible research”.
• The selected candidate will educate other scientists in bioinformatics through collaboration within supported projects and by teaching at national courses and by networking.
• Other responsibilities are to take part in thecontinues improvement and development of the bioinformatics infrastructure, both at local and national levels.

Qualifications:

• PhD in Bioinformatics, Systems Biology, Data Science or other relevant Computational Science.
• Fluent oral and written communication skills in English.
• Candidate must have strong skills in cooperation and communication.
• Proficiency in working in linux-based computing environments, both HPC and Cloud.
• Candidate must also possess good programming/scripting skills.
