University of Zurich is searching for two highly motivated students to work at the interface of chemistry and materials science, with a particular focus on photoelectrochemical (PEC) systems at Department of Chemistry.
Responsibilities:
- One student will further develop Sb2Se3 thin films (and/or other chalcogenide materials) towards efficient solar hydrogen production. In addition to overall water splitting, alternative oxidation reactions towards value-added chemicals will be investigated at the (photo) anode.
- The second student will develop a suite of advanced analytical techniques such as dual working electrode, transient photocurrent/photovoltage, AFM-based electrochemistry, and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy towards a unified model of PEC systems.
Requirements:
- Applicant must hold Master’s degree in chemistry, physics, materials science, or a related field.
- Applications from enthusiastic, collaborative, and creative individuals, with good oral and written communication skills in English are encouraged to apply.
Starting date: September 1, 2019
Applications:
Apply online and application materials must include (in a single PDF file):
- Cover letter
- CV
- Brief description of previous research experience
- Names and contact details of three references
