2 Postdocs, Cellular and Molecular Biology, University of Lethbridge, Canada
Description: University of Lethbridge, Canada is opened 2 postdoc positions in the area of cellular and molecular biology. The main goal is to investigate the regulation of protein synthesis in stress and oncogenesis.
Project 1- This project works on the regulation of mRNA translation (protein synthesis) in one of the deadliest forms of cancer, Glioblastoma. The applicant will use pre-clinical tissue microarrays (TMAs), patient derived brain tumor stem cells (BTSCs), and orthotopic xenograft mouse models. Experience in the cellular and molecular biology of cancer is essential. Expertise in RNA genomics and bioinformatics will be beneficial.
Project 2- This project is concentrated on studying the mechanistic details of the non-canonical translation initiation. The applicant will apply various in-vitro and in-cellulo experimental format. Experience in biochemistry and molecular biology is compulsory. Technical knowledge like mammalian tissue culture, RNA structure-function analysis, protein expression and purification, Western blot, RNAseq & qRT-PCR, and gene expression is must. Skills in RNA genomics and bioinformatics will be added.
Disciplines: Biochemistry, Biological Science, Neuro Science, and Basic Sciences.
