The Faculty of Environmental Sciences, Department of Hydro Sciences, Institute of Water Chemistry at TU Dresden invites applications for the position of 2 Research Associates / PhD students. The positions are available starting as soon as possible.
Duration: fixed-term; 3 years (max. until 31.12.2022)
About the project:
- The project Applying chemical activity concept in chemical hazard assessment aims to re-design current testing strategies to increase throughput and decrease susceptibility to experimental arte-facts by maintaining constant stable exposure and using exclusively taxonomically lower organisms (water fleas, algae). Simultaneously the information output is enhanced by using highly specific/sensitive analytical techniques (LC/MS, GC/MS) and employing chemical activity concept to provide not only indicators of toxicity/bioaccumulation but also information on modes of action, transformation products and (a)biotic partitioning.
Requirements:
- Applicant must hold university degree (M.Sc.) in Chemistry, Environmental Science or related disciplines;
- Excellent track record; laboratory experience (knowledge of LC/MS or GC/MS);
- High motivation and interest in scientific work; excellent command of English (German would be an advantage).
Applications:
Application to be sent preferably as a single pdf document to marta.markiewicz@tu-dresden.de.
